I agree entirely with Ambarish in his approach to the problem and his unstinted appreciation of Prof. Hasan's stand. I would only like to emphasise and deplore in this context that due to the pressure of organised fascist groups within the lawyers community, lawyers are being forced to refuse legal aid `in the national interest' to young muslims being indiscriminately picked up by the police and special forces. This had happened in UP earlier, and according to news reports, has been repeated in the context of some of the boys from jamia Nagar. Shouldnt the Bar Councils at the states and centre take up the issue and ensure that such acts are not repeated and should invite professional reprimand/ punishment?
