India's Railways: Bihar-Based & Bihar Biased
Demanding immediate publication of the merit list for Group D posts in railway, hundreds of aspirants gheraoed the office of Chief Personal Officer here on Monday.

Students alleged though the written examination for the concerned posts has been held in September 2007 and subsequent physical tests for the qualified candidates have been completed in March, 2008, the railway authorities are yet to publish the merit list.

Concerned authorities are adopting partiality towards Bihar-based candidates, they said, adding that there is a provision in the Railway Board guidelines to give preference to the regional youths during the recruitment of Group-D posts. The irate candidates, however, called off their protest after the Deputy Chief Personal Officer (Recruitment) assured them to publish the merit list shortly.
