It is a very good observation of Jyotsana SHarma, that "we in India
are fortunate to have such lovely seasonal and other festivals like
Lohrhi Holi, Diwali, dussehera , Raksha bandhan, Bhaiya dooj etc."

THere are so many festivals in the HIndu calender that if we add
celebrations of other faiths too to them, we will barely have 15
working days in a month. In view of this it would be very silly to
import Mother and Father's days, Valentines etc. into our culture.
It just shows a drifting away from and non appreciation of our
culture to import othe country's festivals into ours.
