Re: Buddhism being 'Godless' etc.
Well, that's the always present rant of the defeated side.

Shiv Shankar must know that Buddhism rotted the social structures
wherever it went. Buddhism was an experiment applicable to India alone.

It was a reformist movement to cleanse Hinduism. Buddha was our greatest
reformer and all Hindus will even shout to their heart's content about
it. But, there ended his Job. A fan cannot hope to produce a storm !

Buddha was no match for the deep Indian philosophy. Sankara's advaita is
what is captivating enquiring minds all over.

Shiv Shankar must realize that Buddhism was won over on mental planes.
Not on the battle front.

I also will look forward to the moderator to ensure that vilification
does not give way to healthy exchange of ideas. On one hand, I am
eternally prepared for a discussion at any place, and time. But, I
insist, it must be gentle, and intellectual and not merely slandering. I
simply cannot bring myself to that level. Sometimes I forward some posts
which might have offended someone. But on my own I always counter
intellectually only.

Venkat
