Devanagri is a script- don't confuse people, please. Kharoshti is an older script. Sanskrit is a language- and both scripts have been used to write it.     By the way Santali- is NOT of Sanskrit origin. It is a national language of India. Similarly Ho, Munda, Khasi, Kurukh are not of Sanskrit origin.     Is Manipuri of Sanskrit origin? It is also a National Language of India.     Those from outside Jharkhand may not know about Austric and Dravidian languages used in the state or Tibeto-Burman languages (Rong was once spoken by the Lepchas of Sikkim).     Prabir
