it is true that the media gives coverage to upper classes and within that class it reserves a lot of space to brahminical forces. it is because media professionals identify with that section. the lower classes and castes get some space but most of it only as negative coverage that reinforces prejudices against them.

 

the orissa massacres however did not get that much coverage also because they were difficult places to access unlike the glamourous hotels in mumbai. the subject too was too complex and the media does not like complexity. a straight simple narration is what they look for and if it means reducing complex issues to absurd levels the media does not care. the media's laziness also deserves some attention here.

The credibility of any article/movement will be judged purely by the nature of contents/author's understanding of the issue with an unbiased 360 degree perspective of the issue.

e.g. If I have to write an article on 'Islamic terrorism', I have to discuss the Naxlism/LTTE. I have to condemn the Tamilnadu CM / Vaiko along with Pakistani PM and President. I may differentiate between Quaran inspired surah-9 'Jihadi' vis-a-vis LTTEs argument for terror - but I must not skip. If I skip,  I deserve to be designated as a Hypocrite.

Now coming to Mr. Amresh Mishra. The high profile writer/spokes person, whose books were inaugurated by Honorable Vice-President of India, always writes for a community against a community.

With no disrecpect to the writer/activist 'Dr. Gail Omvedt' , I have every right to criticize the contents and comment on the bias (may be ignorance/inadvertent or deliberate).

Personally, I would also like to be criticized with proper arguments, if some one see any bias in my comments/articles.
