Karen Gabriel Its really absurd. Normally honorary doctoral degrees are granted for outstanding achievement and lifelong acheivements. Sania hardly qualifies. We in India have begun to specialise in making nonsense of any kind of award Bharat ratna included. anil k dwiwedi According to my opinion, there are many other ways by which the sport
stars or the film stars can be honoured. If "DADA SAHEB FALKE AWARD"
and "ARJUN AWARD" can not be given to an academician, then how is the
reverse possible?
I doubt for the understanding of the value of this Degree, to the
policy makers.
