Re: Marxists, Maoists (Naxal)... Is there a difference? |

I am not surprised to read this piece of article by Punj who is BJP man.For the first time he has written some thing which is close to truth. Mr Punj, you must have definitely known the saying -'as you sow, so you reap'. I hope you know what had happened to Shiva after creating Bhasmasura. You must be knowing as to what would ne Maxists' feeling against Maoist as your party to has created, Vishwa Hindu Parishd, Bajrand Dal, Shri Ram Sene and other senas. As reagrds congress, nobody reagrds the Congress very high, but it seems to be better than yours. Now your Prime Ministerial Candidate declared that he would go on Rath Yatra, may be eyeing on some religious place, mosque or church, so that that can be demolished.Mr Punj, even after seeing what has happened to you and CPIM , have you not learnt any lesson? Still you people want to play with fire? One should not ride the horse without knowing how to dismount. If BJP and CPM want to come to power thay should find Vajpayee and Jyoti Basu once again. With Advani and Karat, you will get what you got. If you continue with them, you will continue to get what you have got. Think beyond them so that you will get some ting better. Choice is yours. There is no point in blaming Congress because what Congress has got is yours.

Actually with thousands of castes, languages, regions and a number of religions and sects India is the fittest candidate for China type Communism. This has to come naturally.
The present form of pseudo democracy is now open and easily understood even by illiterates. So is the case of pseudo communism practiced by elite class of West Bengal and Kerala. You can befool some people all the time, all the people sometime but not all the people all the time. CHANGE is imminent.

Balbir Punj is a theoretician of right wing BJP and hence his comments about the left and the CPM in West Bengal need to be taken with a pinch of salt, in the same way we treat CPM's Biman Basu or Brinda Karat's viws about Mamata or Modi. Barring some honourable exceptions, ideologically aligned people have a tendency in painting persons as either a demon or an angel. Free thinking intellectuals are an endangerd species. So u find Balbir K. Punj painting the CPM in WB in pure black while conveniently forgetting that BJP ruled Madhyapradesh has now emerged as the crime capital of the country followed by Congress-NCP ruled Moharastra and BSP-Dalit ruled Uttar pradesh (NCRB).
Balbir needs to spend a little more time in understanding the complex socio economic reality in most parts of backward Eastern India where the largest number of tribals live and are struggling now against age- old oppression, deprivation and fraud. There is a competitive populism among the fragmented left including the left-haves, left-have- nots and the genuine-lefts(my apologies for such coinage) to occupy the space abandoned by insensitive governments and their unimaginative bad governance. These Govts are now being projected as another category of exploitors.
The first thing the Chief Ministers of these states can do is to leave the state capitals behind and stay among and with the people in these strife torn region for one year. Battallions of police or CRPF or even the army are not going to be of any help. There is no substitute for a people friendly proactive government.functioning to defend the exploited poor.
