Animal sacrifices whether Islamic (Eid-ul-Adah) or Hindu Tantrik are to say the least barbaric and portray these religious beliefs and practices in an extremely crude light. Imitating a non-historical event or the forging of a bond with a chimerical extra-cosmic god who creates out of nothing or the slaying of defenceless beasts to appease some nebulous spirit is totally uncalled for and does not befit civilized, thoughtful, compassionate and eco-sensitive individuals. Conquering or regulating our animal passsions and egregious egoism and irrationality are far more relevant and urgent tasks that need to be adopted by us all for sustaining progress of the individual as well as the collectivity and for safeguarding out limited natural wealth rather than perpetuating something as abhorent as breeding animals for the table or for sacrifice in keeping with uncouth religious rituals. Studies have clearly indicated the ill effects of non-vegetarianism on human health and the environment and from the moral perspective the wanton killing of animals, birds or fish to either satiate one's baser tastes for meat and blood or to appease some scriptural god or spirit is highly objectionable and violates every code of ethics. Vegetarianism is healthy and the consumption of grains, vegetables or fruits is simply a task of harvesting the produce at the end of the short life span of crops or an act of taking the produce off the tree without killing the tree that's akin to say the clipping of superfluous outgrowths like nails or hair that we humans regularly indulge in that does not result in the murder of the subject (person). Educate the masses and this will bring about much changes in general. Cleanliness is next to Godliness must be taught, to one and all, big and small, no one needs to go to the schools or university campus etc to be taught all these matters. Let the educated senior citizens be taken around to all those who need to be taught simple facts of life. This should help to stop the slaughtering of animals etc that you ahve stated in this message. Even for Bakrid, there are rules and regulations to be followed or the sacrifice is null and void.
Please dont make a debate of this animal killing etc,. Instead lets all contribute towards a school on wheels, I am ready to foot the cost to get hold of a decent transportation and the rest its up to you social workers to gather the learned , retired senior citizens in each state who will be ready to serve the country uneducated nationals around India, free of cost.

While people dont care about mass slaughtering happening in different parts of the world, they oppose only religious sacrifice, where even the dead animals is given a virtual divinity. In my belief, the animal sacrifice is thousand times better than those slaughter house, which ruthlessly kills animals for commercial beef production.
Shakthi worship has been one of the major religious and cultural traditions of India, and animal sacrifice is an inseparable part of it. We also have the tradtion of offering animal sacrifice to our kula deivam, every year.

The vegetarian Gods have become non-vegetarian because by doing that some people will be able to take mutton, beef or pork or what not, any thing that is living .You go to the famous Kali temple at Kolkata or Rajrappa Temple in Jharkhand you may collapse to see hundreds of heads of dead animals, clotted blood, faecal matters lying at the entry door of the temple. What a non-sense way to please the God!! We must have to educate people to stop killing of animals on the name of religious tradition.
