Re: Dissent is Democratic, Consensus is Fascist I

Namaste Jharkhand List members

Sri Ambarish has highlighted some points. He wrote:

>>>>> In the same ideological realm making consensus can be possible some time while existing differences in execution can be shorted out under approved ideological framework.>>>>

This is what I call making long statements which, are not understood by anyone. ' Consensus' as I mentioned in my post, is a forced decision on your wife, son, friend, party member, parliament member and fellow citizen AND making him believe that it is his own opinion. This is the seed of Fascism.

For example, the way the communist cadre looks at everything from the top as his own opinion is nothing but Fascism very deftly inserted into his head. Paradoxically, the leftists throw stones at other organizations calling them fascist.

Ambarish Rai also wrote

> >>>>Consolidation of different views to make consensus is not fascism if it was built up on the basis of logic and people reached on same conclusion after debating the issue. Sometime different views can be unresolved but you have to provide opportunity bringing it again at the time of review.>>>>

Please give me at least one  example of such internal democracy in the communists who are the maximum users of the word 'fascism'. Achyutanandan, though a chief minister, was suspended from the party for making his views known to the outside world.

Ambarish Rai wrote

There you are ! Showing their true colours ! Discipline at what cost ? It is like selling one's eyes and buying a picture.

Ambarish Rai ji wrote:

>>>>>>>But if you are imposing superiority, certain ideology, way of living, common code as well as demolishing diversity and considering minorities as second citizen of the country on the basis of different race or religion, suppressing the minority views with help of strength…democracy can not survive in these conditions and it will reach about to fascism with its own economy and politics which is antithesis of democracy.>>>>>>

I am sure you are not referring to India of the past and present.  Let me give you some points

1. India had preserved a pure, microscopic,  Jewish community for two thousand years (in Cochin, Kerala) . Incidentally, these people had become minorities in Israel after the ascendancy of Christianity.  If the Xians are singing a moderate tune in India,  it is , I think, called 'biding their time'.
2. India never aggressed on any other cultures and imposed it on them. Rather it absorbed the Sakas, Huns into itself by adapting their culture into its own mosaic.
3.  It was India which welcomed the Parsis and accorded them equal rights. The prosperity of Parsis in India is visible.
4. It was the same India, which got not less that 20 millions of its citizens killed in a thousand year rule of Islam, and after losing 20 % of its people and 30 % of land to them, still cares for the leftover muslims in the way of Haj fund, separate religious grants etc.
5. It is the same India, which after suffering so much from religious conversions, allowed itself to be secular, and gave missionaries uncurtailed freedom to convert and now has at least seven states asking for secession on RELIGIOUS GROUNDS.
6. It is the same India, that condones the aggressors in the killing of Laxmanananda in Kandhamal, but never talks about the insidious incursions the conversions has made into the social fabric of Orissa.

I can go on and on.  To conclude, the present brand of secularism is divisive, and cheats on its own target public. It foments violence. It undermines religious harmony.

If you ask my opinion. I will give you the example of Sri Lanka. There secularism is different. There are separate ministers at the cabinet level for each Religion- Hindu, Buddhism, Islam and Christianity. Do you know, Jaffna has produced some of the best Scholars on Saiva Siddhanta ? It is because of the set up. Secularism should mean ALL RELIGIONS.  AND NEVER NO RELIGION.

Venkat
