I agree with you. The caste system is deep rooted in all of us and it is extremely difficult to fight against it. It is practised also among Muslims, Christians, Sikhs and Buddhists though these religions preach equality. It is because it is an Indian system and we as a group have to fight against it.
One can defend this system by going back to real or pseudo-history and blaming the British for all the evils. I do not want to get into that controversy. It is an evil as it is practised today and it is time we got together to fight against it.
