Tribal education should enhance their culture and not destroy them
Dear Manoj Padhi..

The tribals are better off with their traditional living, and for
that, the environment is very important.

We need to give them education, to further strengthen their culture
and life style, and should reform themselves without compromising
their culture.

Unfortunately, in the name of giving education, we are providing them
macaulay education where they are asked to leave off their tradition
and culture.

As a result, the educated tribals who adopt life style of plains
people who in turn are living western life, start to hate their fellow
uneducated brethrens..

This trend should change..

The education should be reformed so that, any educated tribals
understands himself, his community, his tradition, his history well,
and then use his education, to improve the life style, like better
housing, environmental friendly development, and improving the
existing tribal system which caters to the need of all, including
those uneducated tribals.. also, the educated people can communicate
with government and get some technical jobs, non-polluting
non-invasive industries, to improve the prosperity of the tribals

More importantly, care is taken that the education doesnt make them
shed off their age old culture and tradition..

Regards,
Senthil Raja
