People like you, manoj padhi, should learn to respect facts a little. in the batla house 'encounter' the police itself gave out many versions and on the same day too. as a memeber of the Delhi Union of Journalists' ethics council i have been watching the coverage of terrorism related incidents for a while now and i know this for a fact that all the tv channels and all the newspapers agve different sets of facts. it is also a fact that a police inspector was killed and it will be good to find out just why and how this happened. for the police has different versions about this too. a judicial enquiry may actually reveal many weaknesses in te policing system that need to be corrected. this is not to blame an individual policeman, but the way they are traned and equipped must be examined closely. like, at batla house the police inspector,  mohan chand sharma was not wearing a police bullet. if they had gone to confront 'terrorists' how come he went in unprepared? why? i shan't go into details but there is no harm in an enquiry.

 

in sadhvi pragya's case  the investigation continued like it should, there was no encounter and people arrested were produced in court. and was remanded to custody. so were many others. so how can there be demand for a judicial enquiry? and of what? you are fuming only because sadhvi pragya is a hindu and you think nobody is defending her. let me tell you to ask for an enquiry does not mean defending the accused. it means that there is something wrong with the way things have gone and we must find out what is wrong. this country has seen many many judicial enquiries and they were ordered to go into incidents in which 'hindus' had been killed or maimed.

 

next time check your facts. your bias is clear, but only secular people like shamsul and i have the courage of our convictions to engage in a dialogue with openly biased people like you.
