Dalit research scholar : means Tax payers money is compromised.
In India, it has become a trend to offer social justice at tax payers money - the idea is to encourage people from oppressed community to get a job.
Please note that - no one is denying such opportunities. But there are certain jobs where quality must not be compromised.
Most of the Government posts where only routine file handling work is done - we have no objection to offer a job to the oppressed community.
But: Technology, Research, Defense Service Officers, teaching and Hi-Tech Research/ Jobs - a simple No.
Reason: Let them become a clerk, make effort to educate their children by providing all facilities and let them compete with merit.
My father started his career as a clerk because of his father's poor vision. He knew that he missed his opportunity but wouldn't let that happen with his son's and daughter's. With limited income, he worked hard and the brother-sisters helped each other - Every one's dream came true.
So Dalits should follow the hard way to compete in high tech and research fields without compromising National Interest or National Security. Think for a while - in case of a war, we have a Dalit Defense Minister and a Dalit Army Chief : we are in the verge of getting screwed up ?
All these years several high Tech workers of India replaced average Americans - After laid off, a typical American IT manager didn't hesitate to take up a job of health club manager or a lower job. So, the ongoing aspiration among Indian Dalits that they deserve quota in every job including IIT/IIM teaching jobs is not in National Interest and must not be allowed.
The so called historic wrong by Brahmins can't be taken as an excuse to compromise National Interest -because "Country First'. Dalits should concentrate in competing with meritorious students and get a job. If they fail, they should prepare their next generation for those kind of jobs.
Dalits should demand full Dalit Institutions in the lines of Aligarah Muslim Universitiy and other minority institutions. There should be a separate entrance for Dalits who fails to compete with General category students and join the All-Dalit Institutions. Become a research scholar there; since all will be Dalits no one will tease or taunt them. Let us see - what kind of researches they are able to do. If some one really is very good in research - he can be considered for high tech and teaching jobs based on his research/innovation.
The idea is , at every stage we should explore the top class Dalit talents and keep integrating them with merit as per their capability. The taunts/teasing and harassment will automatically disappear.
During our school days, we used to taunt the poor performers , irrespective of his caste/religion. It is really unfortunate to hear that such taunts end up in suicide. The principal, Vice-Chancellor should offer psychological counselling to Dalit Students to overcome such teasing, taunts or harassments.
Social Justice should be achieved without doing injustice to merit. Because it is the merit, which is back bone of our economy.
Just think, if Indian Technology companies would have followed the Central Governments 27% OBC and 22.5 SC/ST reservations policy - they would have dead by now; China would be No.1 in IT outsourcing.
