Dear Sir, The only difference between the caste system and the other divisions is that one is born into a caste and dies in it. In all other divisions, humans have a choice to move vertically or laterally. In the caste system, no one can change their caste. It is taboo. The problem is in the rigidity and absoluteness of the system and not in the existence of the division per se. And the concept of caste has religious sanction, and it does emanate from the concept of God, which is at the root.
